Parent to "Teacher" Organization

Family involvement continues to remain critical to a child’s achievement in the early intervention process. Ongoing research suggests that family engagement in therapy sessions improves the child’s achievement, reduces missed visits, and restores parents’ confidence in their child’s remediation. Students with involved parents or other caregivers earn higher grades and test scores, have better social skills, show improved behavior.

Upon registration, parents of the children within our program will be encouraged to volunteer as "Teachers" within the Parent to "Teacher" organization. Our parents will undergo training of the program's curriculum in addition to being provided continuous support and staff supervision while serving as volunteer “teachers” within their child’s classroom. Our hopes are that the intensive training to the parents of our participants will aid or eliminate the special education process that may follow.
